    Welcome to ENGL 1121!  During the first three days of this summer term you should read this syllabus carefully to gain an overview of the course, and you should explore our course site in Desire2Learn (D2L).  On the navigation bar at the left of your screen, click on Course Assignments to link to the instructions to begin the first assignment: "Introduction to the Course."

    MNSCU is upgrading the D2L platform , from 6:00 pm on Thursday,  June 5, through 8:00 am  on Monday, June 9.  If D2L is down, you will receive alternate instructions via email.  Check you METNET email box for updates.

      Course Prerequisites | Required Text and Materials

    Course Prerequisites
    • Students must have a grade of C or better in ENGL 0950 or achievement of recommended score on the English placement test.
    • In addition, students must  have a personal computer with internet access including Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 higher.  On-line students are expected to have experience with word processing, internet navigation and search engines, and e-mail.

    • Internet browser: Netscape Communicator 4.6 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.
