Welcome to the WorldWide Writers' PLACE, a knowledge hub for writers and teachers of writing. The WWWriters' PLACE is an on-line rhetoric for college writing and critical reading courses. Its intent is to help writers in any writing situation to take control of their writing process.

This is a map of the WWWriters' PLACE. You can see how it looks like a typical small college campus. Its structure is designed to represent the writing process, which is non-linear. Often, as we write a report or a story or an essay, we move back and forth between writing and thinking, reading and planning, drafting and sharing, and drafting some more.

In addition, the WWWriters' PLACE is an on-line rhetoric. It guides users in the study of the interaction between writers and readers through the medium of a text. By understanding the dynamics of this interaction, writers and readers are better able to achieve their purposes with their target audiences. PLACE is a model for this rhetorical analysis: purpose, language, audience, context and evidence.

Why have you come to the WWWriters' PLACE? Are you a student, a business writer, or a teacher?
