Subject: Self-Evaluation of
Achievement of Course Outcomes
Dear Professor:
[ This page presents a model of the correct layout for your final self-evaluation memo. As you see here, you should use the "block" style to format your memo. That means that every line begins at the left of the page, with no TABS or indention.
Your paragraphs should be single-spaced with a double-spaced break between paragraphs. The body of your memo should respond to the assignment. Using the list of outcomes in your course syllabus, explain to the reader how the assignments you have submitted for this class demonstrate achievement of the course outcomes. Your memo should be clearly focused on a central assertion and present evidence to support this assertion. The thesis of your memo may be something like this: "As you can see in the work I have submitted this term, I have successfully achieved the course outcomes for __(course title) __." Then go on to explain how your assignments show your achievements. Tell your memo reader what you have learned in this class. How have you improved as a college student? A good memo is about 300 to 500 words.
This memo is your final exam; it will be considered in the overall evaluation of your competence in this course, so you should take this assignment seriously and give it some thought. Also be sure to proofread and edit your work carefully before submitting your final draft. Remember, SAVE your memo as a WORD.doc or rich text format (.rtf). ]
