  • Revising

In Revising you will see your writing by taking the stance of the reader rather than the writer. It will be easier to see your draft this way as you share your work with your writing group in the Commons. By their describing for you what goes through their minds as they read your piece, you will be able to see the actual effects your writing has on readers.

You will use their response as part of your analysis and evaluation of your work.

    • How well does your writing accomplish your purpose with your target audience?
    • Have you considered the appropriate context and language for your writing situation?
    • Have you carefully selected evidence to support your ideas?
